LRT-1 U.N. Avenue Station Routes & Destinations

U.N. Avenue Station of LRT-1, the Yellow Line serves Ermita District. It is located at the corner of Taft Avenue and United Nations Avenue and near to Rizal Park and Government offices as well as school, universities, hospitals, malls and hotels. If you're coming from a far distant area in the north like Bulacan, Pampanga, Novaliches, Balintawak, U.P. Diliman, Fairview, CAMANAVA, etc or east of Metro Manila like Pasig, Antipolo, Marikina, etc, and you're going to U.S. Embassy, the best route to take is via MRT and LRT. Get off at U.N. Avenue Station and ride a taxi to get to the U.S. Embassy, which is located exactly at the southwest tip of Roxas Boulevard. It's approximately 940 meters from U.N. Avenue Station to the gate of U.S. Embassy, a good walk exercise if you will. Especially in the early morning when most of visa applicants go there.

This post will tell you how to get to different places in the surrounding areas of LRT-1 U.N. Avenue Station. You can go to Robinson's Place Manila more faster from a far flung location if you get off here rather than in Pedro Gil Station where you need to walk towards the direction of Robinson's. If you take this route to get to Robinson's, you still need to walk but not that far.

Of course, the reason is there's a jeepney route along Padre Faura that passes through all wings of Robinson's Place Manila. U.N. Avenue Station is also the best route if you're going to Bellagio Square if you're coming from a far distant location and you're commuting by LRT and MRT. To get to Bellagio Square, you only need to walk a little bit towards Padre Faura, ride a jeepney and ask the driver to drop you off at Pedro Gil corner Jeorge Bacobo. Here are the places, buildings and institutions you can get to via U.N. Avenue Station of LRT-1. For your reference, I've also measure their distances from corner of Taft Avenue and United Nations Avenue. They're listed below in alphabetical order:

Araullo High School - located just outside of the U.N. Avenue Station, northeast corner of Taft Avenue and U.N. Avenue intersection.

Barrio Fiesta - a popular Filipino Restaurant located at the left corner of United Nations Avenue and Alhambra street, around 728 meters from U.N. Avenue Station toward southwest near Roxas Boulevard.

Bayview Park Hotel Manila - a three star hotel located next to Barrio Fiesta. Exact location is Roxas Boulevard corner United Nations Avenue. Approximate distance is 798 meters from U.N. Station to the main lobby entrance which is located along Roxas Boulevard service road.

Casa Bacobo Hotel - located to the right corner of United Nations Avenue and Jeorge Bacobo from Taft going southwest or Roxas Boulevard. Approximate distance from Taft Avenue to the main entrance which is locate along Bacobo Street is 450 meters.

Cowboy Grill - a popular bar with live band performers nightly located to the left side of U.N. Avenue from Taft going southwest or Roxas Boulevard approximately 400 meters from Taft.

Crewcare Bldg - Crew Care, Inc. is a seafarers' company giving services not only to seafarers but to their families as well. This building also houses King's Manpower Services. Located to the right of United Nations Avenue going to Roxas Boulevard. Approximately 732 meters from Taft Avenue. Exact Address: 415 U.N. Avenue, Ermita, Manila.

Department of Justice - located along Padre Faura Street. From U.N. Avenue Station, walk southward along Taft Anvenue to Padre Faura pass NBI, about 276 meters. Ride a jeepney going to Robinson's Place mall and ask driver to drop you off right at Department of Justice.

Emilio Aguinaldo College - located at the corner of San Marcelino and Gonzales streeet, which is to the east of U.N. Avenue Station. Between U.N. Avenue and Taft Avenue another road runs through. This road is General Luna Street. Take that road up to Gonzales Street. Turn left on Gonzales Street. Approximate distance from U.N. Station to Emilio Aguinaldo College is 260 meters.

Don Alfonso Sycip Condominium - located to the left of U.N. Avenue around 660 meters from Taft Avenue going to Roxas Boulevard or toward southwest. Border by M.H. Del Pilar, U.N. Avenue and Guerrero Street.

G.E. Antonio Building is actually located at T.M. Kalaw Avenue corner Jeorge Bacobo Street. But you can easily reach its main entrance which is located along Jeorge Bacobo if you pass through U.N. Avenue, turning left onto Bacobo Street. A short walk of about 510 meters toward southwest or Roxas Boulevard.

Hiraya Gallery - is a small museum of Philippine arts created by young but talented Filipino artists. Located to the left of U.N. Avenue about 475 meters from Taft Avenue going southwest or toward Roxas Boulevard.

Manila Doctors Hospital - located to the right of U.N. Avenue approximately 162 meters from Taft going southwest or toward Roxas Boulevard.

Manila Pavilion Hotel - located to the right of U.N. Avenue next to Manila Doctors Hospital around 270 meters from Taft Avenue. Exactly located at the corner of Maria Orosa Street and U.N. Avenue. Manila Pavilion houses a PAGCOR Casino. This 4-star hotel is a Waterfront Hotels & Casinos member hotel.

Manila Police Precint #5 - located to the left of U.N. Avenue 115 meters from corner of Taft Avenue going southwest or Roxas Boulevard.

Manila Prince Hotel - 4 Star Hotel with 5 Star Hotel furnitures, facilities and amenities. Located at #1000 San Marcelino Street. Walking direction: From U.N. Station, walk along U.N. Avenue toward northeast end of U.N. Avenue. Turn left on the next street which is San Marcelino. Manila Prince is to the right of San Marcelino about 110 meters from corner of U.N. Avenue and San Marcelino Street. Approximate distance from Taft is 385 meters.

Mayfair Tower - a condominium with magnificient view inside and out. Located at the left corner of U.N. Avenue and Mabini Street approximately 515 meters from U.N. Avenue Station of LRT-1.

Medical Center Manila - is located just around 28 meters from U.N. Avenue Station north bound side of LRT or to the east of Taft Avenue.

Miramar Hotel - a 3-star hotel built in 1930, renovated to restore its former glory. One of the few remaining art deco buildings along Roxas Boulevard. Approximately 795 meters from U.N. Avenue Station going southwest. You can get there by taxi from Taft or just walk the distance, turning right onto the service road of Roxas Boulevard. Miramar is next to the corner building which is occupied by a Starbuck's and Yellow Cab.


National Bureau of Investigation Headquarters - located along Taft Avenue, southbound, approximately 108 meters from U.N. Avenue Station.

National Library of the Philippines - also known as Pambansang Aklatan ng Pilipinas, located along T.M. Kalaw in Rizal Park. You can get there by walking about 650 meters from Taft Avenue, taking southwest direction of U.N. Avenue or toward Roxas Boulevard. Turn right onto Mabini Street and cross T.M. Kalaw.

Philam Life Building - located to the left of U.N. Avenue next to Manila Police Precint #5 around 178 meters from Taft going to Roxas Boulevard.

Physician's Tower - is an old building located to the right of U.N. Avenue approximately 480 meters from Taft going southwest or toward Roxas Boulevard.

Puso ng Maynila building - located at the corner of U.N. Avenue and Mabini Street. Approximately 529 meters from Taft Avenue up to the entrance which is located along Mabini Street. Direction is toward southwest or Roxas Boulevard.

Rizal Park or Luneta Park - national park of the Philippines where Manila Ocean Park and H20 Hotel is also located at the back of Quirino Grandstand. Best way from U.N. Avenue by walking is toward T.M. Kalaw. Walk along Taft Avenue nortward. Or you can take the road running 25 degrees from Taft Avenue northward. This road is General Luna. If you take General Luna, crossing T.M. Kalaw and staying on this road will take you first to the Department of Tourism building and then to the Agrifina Circle where Sultan Kudarat Statue stands and is already part of Rizal Park. Walking from Agrifina Circle toward west will take you to Luneta Dancing Music Fountain which is about 587 meters from U.N. Avenue Station of LRT, Jose Rizal Monument - 855 meters, Quirino Grandstad - 1186 meters, and Manila Ocean Park approximately 1.3 kilometers from U.N. Avenue Station of LRT-1, the Yellow Line. You can take a taxi along T.M. Kalaw corner General Luna Street to get to Manila Ocean Park faster.

Robinson's Place Mall - you can get here faster via U.N. Avenue Station, walk approximately 273 meters southward along Taft Avenue pass NBI toward corner of Padre Faura where you ride a "Paco San Andres" bound jeepney. Get off right on Robinson's Place depending on your destination in Robinson's Place. If you're going to Midtown part of Robinson's get off at Pedro Gil Wing. You see, jeepneys plying this route pass through 3 roads that border Robinson's Place Mall - Padre Faura, then they turn left on M.H. Del Pilar Street, and finally turn left on Pedro Gil Street. Robinson's Place Ermita is so big. You must know what part of Robinson's your going to, so that you know where to get of. If you're in doubt, ask the driver to drop you off.

Royal Bay Terrace - a condominium located to the right of U.N. Avenue going southwest or toward Roxas Boulevard, approximately 560 meters from Taft Avenue.

San Carlos Mansion - is a budget apartelle or apartment hotel that caters to foreign tourists. It is located along a small road called San Carlos which is next to Jeorge Bacobo Street. From U.N. Avenue Station of LRT-1, walk to the right of U.N. Avenue toward Roxas Boulevard or southwest, then turn right onto San Carlos Street. Approximate distance from U.N. Station is 510 meters.


Seafarers Place - is a meeting place of seafarers looking for jobs in foreign vessels. Located at a part of Rizal Park adjoining T.M. Kalaw Street. From U.N. Avenue Station of LRT-1, walk toward T.M. Kalaw via General Luna Street, the road that runs northwwest 25 degrees from Taft Avenue. Walk along T.M. Kalaw pass Maria Orosa Street until you see their marker.

Segundina Building - this is where Vizcarra Diagnostic Center is located. As it is the building is now known as Vizcarra. Located to the left of U.N. Avenue approximately 565 meters from Taft Avenue going southwest or toward Roxas Boulevard.

Shakeys - stands alongside Cowboy Grill to the left of U.N. Avenue opposite McDonals approximately 365 meters from U.N. Avenue Station of LRT.

Starbucks Coffee and Yellow Cab Pizza - located at the corner of Roxas Boulevard service road and U.N. Avenue to the right. Approximately 773 meters from Taft Avenue.

Jade Vine - is a popular Filipino restaurant which was started as a small coffee shop in M.H. Del Pilar in 1960 and because of its popularity had moved in here in 1963 to accommodate its growing number of customers. With official address at 537 United Nations Avenue, it is located at the right corner of U.N. Avenue and Jeorge Bacobo Street. Approximately 438 meters from Taft Avenue in the direction of Roxas Boulevard.

The Pearl Manila - is a hotel located along Taft Avenue's southbound side, approximately
780 meters from U.N. Avenue Station of LRT.

Times Plaza - is an office building with commercial establishments connected to the southbound lane of LRT-1, the Yellow Line.

U.S. Embassy - is located where U.N. Avenue ends in Roxas Boulevard, at the opposite side. This picture was taken during parade of Festival of Santo Nino on January 30, 2011. At the background is the American embassy. You can get to the U.S. Embassy via U.N. Avenue Station of LRT-1 by riding a taxi right near the corner of U.N. Avenue and Taft Avenue.

Victoria Bldg - located to the right of U.N. Avenue approximately 700 meters from Taft going southwest or toward Roxas Boulevard. Complete address is 429 United Nations Avenue, Ermita, Manila.

WHO - Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarters of World Health Organization. Located opposite Times Plaza, approximately just 10 meters from U.N. Avenue Station of LRT-1, the Yellow Line.
