Integrated Bus Terminal For Batangas & Cavite Buses Opens

  • 21 Jun 2013
  • Lagalag

  • The first integrated bus terminal for provincial buses in Metro Manila which aims to ease traffic in the metropolis is scheduled to open on August 6, 2013. The initial integrated terminal is built for buses that ply the routes of Batangas-Manila and Cavite-Manila. After August 6, 2013, these buses will no longer be allowed to take their usual routes from their respective origins beyond the location of the integrated terminal designated for them.

Location of Integrated Bus Terminal for Batangas & Cavite Buses

The bus depot for the two provinces of CALABARZON is located at Coastal Mall which is situated at the corner of Aguinaldo Blvd and NAIA Rd Ext in Paranaque City. Aguinaldo Blvd which is also known as Coastal Rd is the extension of Roxas Blvd. Similar integrated bus terminals are set to open in Alabang and North EDSA. Alabang Integrated Bus Terminal will serve buses from other provinces south of Manila, e.g., Laguna, Quezon, etc. Meanwhile, North EDSA Integrated Bus Terminal will be the home of buses from provinces north of Metro Manila such as Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, etc.

How To Get To Coastal Mall Integrated Bus Terminal

Via EDSA - Just ride a bus with "MIA" or "NAIA" sign. You can take this bus from any point in EDSA. In some cases, you might need to take two bus rides if you don't find a NAIA bus in your area. Drop off at Coastal Mall. You use this route from any of the following locations: Novaliches, Fairview, Munoz, Cubao, Megamall, Guadalupe, etc.

Via LRT - From any station, get off the train at EDSA Station and ride a "NAIA" bound bus and alight at Coastal Mall.

Via MRT - From any station, alight at Taft Station and take "NAIA" bound bus and alight at Coastal Mall.

How To Commute From Integrated Terminal To Different Locations In Metro Manila

If you are having a problem in commuting to your destination after getting off the provincial bus in Coastal Mall, please read the newly created post entitled Commute Guide From South West Terminal To Different Locations. You can click that link or go here. Listed there are locations of terminals of jeepneys, city buses and UV Express headed outside of Coastal Mall and South West Integrated.

    Affected Passengers

All passengers from Batangas and Cavite should alight at Coastal Mall. From there, they can take another bus or jeepney on the way to their destinations. They can take a bus bound for "Monumento", "Cubao", "Fairview", etc and drop off at their destination or at MRT Taft Staion/LRT EDSA Station. From these stations, ride a train and alight at station nearer to your destination. If you want to know where to ride a city bus after alighting a provincial bus at Coastal Mall, please go to South West Integrated Terminal & City Buses Coastal Mall Station.

    Affected Buses

For years, terminals of these buses in Metro Manila were found in different locations in Pasay and Manila areas. Gil Puyat aka Buendia in Taft Ave for one had been popular location of many terminals for these provincial buses. Lawton and Sta Cruz in Manila were also known as bastion for these passenger liners.

    Long Term Benefits

According to MMDA, volume of traffic along major roads of Metro Manila will be decreased once the three big bus integrated terminals are completed. The available spaces gained from the removal of provincial buses will be used by fewer buses and motorists. Thus, significantly reducing traffic.

Although this major change in commuting brings huge inconveniences for our fellow citizens who travel to their works from their respective provincial towns, colossal benefits for the majority in terms of fast and smooth commute and drive within our metropolis are achieved.

Furthermore, numbers of vehicular accidents that involved mostly buses will decreased significantly. In the process, we ease the traffic and save lives.

Rush Hour Commute Directions To BGC Buildings From MRT Ayala Station

  • 18 Jun 2013
  • Lagalag

  • This commuters guide for those going to a building inside BONIFACIO GLOBAL CITY must only be used if you are forced to board an Upper West Route or Lower West Route bus at BGC Bus Terminal in EDSA. It happens when there are so many passengers and West/East buses are inadequate. Upper/Lower West buses are not regulars. They are only extras. These additional routes are made available only on case by case basis. You need to read this, so that if the only available bus when you get there is either Upper West or Lower West, you know where to alight. For regular bus routes from EDSA to a bldg in BGC, go to Commute Guide To Buildings & Attractions Inside BGC From MRT Ayala Station.

    Rush-Hours' Routes of BGC buses

Below are the three rush-hours routes of BGC Buses from its terminal in EDSA just meters away from MRT Ayala Station.

w Click each route, you will land to their respective route maps. Click the "back" button there to return here and continue reading the guide.

Click these routes to see maps:

IMPORTANT: You're using mobile now. Tip: To view the entire route from EDSA to BGC, drag the maps: Tap your thumb inside a map & move it. To zoom out, 'pinch-in.' To zoom in, 'pinch-out.'

Upper West RouteLower West RouteEast Route

What is the Name of your Building Destination?

You must know the name of the building you are headed to. You're just going to look up the building in the lists below. Once you found it, you remember the bus stop name, get the walking direction given and off you go. Commuting to a BGC building location, even for first timers has never been easier. Just read on.

Which Bus Stop will you use to get to your building?

Once you see the name of your building, you will easily get the Bus Stop it is near to. In that section of this guide is the ordinal position of that bus stop from EDSA Bus Terminal, i.e., first stop from EDSA, second bus stop, etc. It is important that you know the ordinal position or number of your bus stop so that you know when to get off the bus. You will also see the name of the bus stop on the waiting shed - written conspicuously.

Walking direction from Bus Stop to your building is linked to separate page

Very Important: You must wait for the new page to load COMPLETELY before you can read the walk direction for your building. Except for HSBC Bus Stop, all Bus Stops here are the exact Bus Stops used in regular routes during off-peak hours. So the walking directions from Bus Stop to buildings during peak hours and during off-peak hours are of course the same. So we linked your Bus Stop here to the location on the regular route page where walking directions are given. Remember that the new page automatically scrolls down to the location of particular walk direction. The browser might become slower. So you must wait patiently.

How do I know which Bus Stop to get off from the bus?

As you read through this guide, you get to know which Bus Stop inside Bonifacio Global City is to use to get to your building destination. Lists of buildings for each bus stop are provided. Look for the name of your building on the first bus stop. If it's not found there go to the next bus stop and so on. It is followed by walking directions from Bus Stop (HSBC Bus Stop only.) In other bus stops, 'walk direction' links to the separate page are provided. The separate page is our main article for commuting to BGC buildings & attractions from MRT-3 Ayala Station in EDSA. If you want to check the whole article first, open it in a new window or tab by hitting this link: Commute Guide To Buildings & Attractions Inside BGC From MRT Ayala Station

Now begin your commute from BGC Bus Terminal located in EDSA-Ayala just across MRT-3 Ayala Station. Next subheading tells you how.

How To Get To Buildings In BGC During Rush Hour from MRT Ayala Station?

Buy ticket from Ticket Booth at BGC Bus Terminal which is located across MRT-3 Ayala Station stairs, northbound exit. The BGC Bus Terminal is inside McKinley Exchange bldg aka Telus which is at the corner of EDSA and McKinley. Once you have the ticket, stand in line under the sign of your bus route,i.e., Upper, Lower or East. Or follow directions given by officers managing the queue. Alight at the Bus Stop nearer to your building destination and walk toward it. It's important that you must already know the location of your building in relation to the nearest Bus Stop before you ride the bus. So here are my tips: Do these before riding a train to MRT Ayala Station. Look for the name of your building or spot to which you are headed on the lists that you will see below. If you don't find your destination on the first list, go to the next list, and so on. Once you see your building or spot, check what bus route it is under. Then remember the location of bus stop nearer to it. Write in a piece of paper or type on your tablet's or phone's notepad the walking direction from the bus stop to your destination. That's it.

Ignore the title on that page and the first sentences especially the one that says "this is during off-peak hours only." Begin reading only in the part that starts off with:

"Here are walking directions from this Bus Stop..."

Don't forget to see the map below the text there and click the pins on the map. To return to this page again, DO NOT click "back" button there. Instead, click the tab of this page on your browser. Now, if your building is listed above, click the link below:

    Walk Directions

Here is the last set of building destinations served by Upper West route of buses from EDSA-Ayala. If you found your building here, click the link below the list for walk direction from the bus stop.

    Accralaw

If your destination is listed above, you must get off the bus at the 3rd Bus Stop which is located at 1st Ave and it is named Crescent Park West. The bus turns left onto 1st Ave from 31st St. From Crescent Park Bus Stop, walk your way to your building destination. Click 'walk directions' link' below after reading instructions from here down to that link - to get the walking direction for your destination. You MUST wait for the next page until it is loaded completely, otherwise you will get lost. DO NOT scroll the page while it is loading. Just wait.

Once the page is loaded, begin reading only after this sentence:

"Here are the buildings nearer to this bus stop:"

Ignore the first paragraph there and the title. You see that page is for off-peak hours but the bus stops are the same used in peak-hours. The big difference is the ordinal number of each bus stop in relation to its distance from EDSA Bus Terminal. That is why you need to ignore the title, because it says the ordinal number during off-peak hours. We are in peak-hours here and the ordinal numbers of bus stops here are different.

So just read the walking direction from the bus stop on that page to your building destination. There is map for more help. Click each red pin in the map to reveal the name of the building it represents. Now go click the link below.

The fastest way is to use the first bus stop which is McKinley Parkway. Nevertheless, below are the buildings very near to Fort Victoria. Click the 'walking directions' link next to it but when you get there, just look at the map and click all red pins on the map so that you get the idea on how to get to the particular building. Second Bus Stop from EDSA Terminal in this route is Nutriasia. It is located along 30th St before the corner of 9th Ave. From 5th Ave, the bus turns left onto 30th St. BHS means Bonifacio High Street and this Bus Station is used in going to the center of High Street instead of the front which is in 5th Ave. 9th Ave passes through the middle of linear High Street park.

At this point, commute directions to buildings served by "East Route" bus during peak hours are the same with "East Route" bus during peak hours. So, for that, it's better to use the main guide. Look for your building there in alphabetically listed buildings in the table, click it, and you will land to the walking direction you need. Go check the map and click each pin and placemark on the map. Here is the link to our main commuting guide to buildings inside BGC from MRT Ayala Station:

Commute Guide To Buildings & Attractions Inside BGC From MRT Ayala Station

Route maps of Rush-hour BGC Buses from MRT Ayala Station

Upper West - served by HM Bus/Worthy Bus

Tip: Dragging the map from Left to Right will show you how Upper West bus navigates from MRT Ayala to Upper West BGC and back. 'Pinch-out' gesture shows you street names and if you know the street of your bldg you know which bus stop to use. Play around with the map: 'pinch-out', 'pinch-in', drag. Familiarize yourself with vicinity and by zooming in (pinch-out) alone you get to see major buildings such as Globe Tower, Shangri-La Hotel The Fort, etc.

Lower West - served by BGC Bus

Tip: By viewing map on your smartphone in landscape mode you get a larger map similar to laptop & desktop view. Drag the map Left to Right and it shows the 'Lower West' Bus paths and turns. By knowing the ordinal position of the bus stop nearest to your building destination, you will not get lost as you get to alight at the right Bus Stop. But first, find out what bus stop your building is nearest to. So hit the 'back' button now.

East Route - served by HM Bus/Worthy Bus

In this map for 'East Route' bus, the last three bus stops have the same ordinal positions from EDSA as with the off-peak hours bus routes. That is Nutriasia, Universtiy Parkway and Market Market are second, third and fourth, respectively, from EDSA Terminal in both off-peak and peak hours.

Hope this guide helps you in commuting to your building destination or any spot within Bonifacio Global City. Especially that this particular post is created for commuters going to BGC during rush hours.
