NAIA 1-2-3 Shuttle Bus: Easy Way To Get To & From NAIA Terminals

Going to three terminals of Ninoy Aquino International Airport or NAIA presents problems for most of the commuters especially if they don't know what route of jeepneys or buses to take. Good for the old terminal 1 that its location is along the route of Metro Manila buses. One can get off the bus exactly at the old airport. In NAIA-2, you need to walk a little bit far to get to its ground. NAIA-3 is the most hard to reach by commuting among the three terminals because of its location.

FLASH! City buses from north of Metro Manila now go direct to NAIA 3 and 4. Read the latest article on how to go to terminal 4 and 3 in one bus ride from your location, go to City Buses Route Direct to NAIA-3 & 4 from North of Metro Manila

Thanks to NAIA Shuttle Bus, going to and from two terminals of our premier airport, NAIA-2 and NAIA-3, has never been this convenient for commuters. You can get in and out of these terminals even if you're not an arriving passenger. In Terminal 1, only arriving passengers can ride the shuttle bus but commuters going to the old airport can still get there by riding the shuttle bus.

IMPORTANT UPDATE (Sep 12, 2015): NAIA Shuttle is now called Airport Loop. The bus in the photo below no longer exists. They are replaced by Airport Loop buses. Also the location of new Airport Loop inside Pasay Bus Terminal has moved. The unloading spot in Terminal 3 is moved, too. So, I have created a new article that will guide you in locating and identifying the Airport Loop buses. In the new article, added are complete list of unloading areas and their locations along the entire route of the loop. Two unloading areas are now designated inside Newport City. You have to read the new article as it is fresh. Nevertheless, directions in this article are still usable in general so my recommendation is to read this and the new published article. Here's the link: Airport Loop: Where to Ride & Alight to and from NAIA Terminals.

If you're going to a NAIA Terminal to catch your flight, make sure you have enough time allowance. In addition to 3 hours requirement for international flight and 2 hours for local flight for a flying passenger to be at the airport before the time of the flight, an added 2 hours allowance is needed if you're going to NAIA-1 via Shuttle Bus to make up for the waiting time both in Bus Station at Pasay Rotonda and NAIA-3.

    1. These very specific and detailed directions on how to take public transportation in lieu of the MOST EXPENSIVE YELLOW AIRPORT TAXI (in the Philippines), is a great service to those travelling on budget. Kudos to Mr. Blogger, may your tribe increase.

    6. hi! i would just like to ask. Does MRT accept passengers with about 2-3 luggages? i just would like to commute from quezon city to NAIA terminal 3. and i think taking the MRT is the easiest and the cheapest way to reach pasay and take the shuttle to terminal 3. Thanks!

      ReplyDelete
    7. I think one person carrying 3 luggages is not allowed to board MRT. Hand-carry bag and a backpack is allowed based on my experience. I suggest you just take a taxi to Pasay Rotonda then ride the shuttle to NAIA-3.

Friendly reminder: Recommended arrival time at the airport prior to departure of International Flights is 3 hours. Local flight is 2 hours.

    8. Is the NAIA 1-2-3 Shuttle Bus operating 24 hours?

    10. Lagalog, I'm dropping a friend off to Terminal 1 from Terminal 2 (flying into Manila on Cebu Pacific domestic)... I was curious, what's the best way to get to MRT-3 Taft Station? Last Sunday night (9-11pm)...

      Thanks for the help!

    11. Hello Christopher, the answer to your question is written on Direction #6 of this article. Please read it completely, thanks.

    12. Hello -- wow, thanks for your informative blog! A quick question about Direction #3. How long does will the bus take to get from NAIA 1 to NAIA 3?

We are a group of 8 with kids and old people, so this bus is just perfect for us.
We are arriving at NAIA 1 at 1PM and have to catch a domestic flight that leaves at 3:45PM from NAIA 3.

Is it advisable to take this shuttle bus?

      ReplyDelete
    13. NAIA Shuttle leaves Terminal 1 immediately, so for me it's advisable. Also, since there are eight of you, the chauffeur will take you right away to Terminal 3. But it will stop at NAIA-2 for a while before heading out to NAIA-3. Just talk to the chauffeur about your situation, that you need to be at NAIA-3 two hours before the departure time. I don't think there would be any problem on that.

      Mabuhay! Enjoy your stay.

      ReplyDelete
    14. Maraming salamat po for the quick reply! :)

Another question-- which of the photos shown above are those taken from NAIA1? I just hope that upon getting out of NAIA 1 Customs, the shuttle bus stop won't be difficult to find.

Mabuhay and thank you very much for writing this blog!

    18. Good am. Ask lang po ako if saan po ako banda sakay ng shuttle bus galing po ako bacolod city my flight will be first flight of philippine airlines and I have an international flight at 1230 same day. since its my first time in manila i want to know how to go there at terminal 1 from philippine airlines terminal. thank you po. i hope i can get an answer.

      ReplyDelete

    22. Thanks so much for this post, Mr. Lagalag! I've been looking all over the web for this exact information, as I would need to transfer From Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 next month when I get in from HKG.

I have just one concern though; I'll be arriving at Terminal 1 around 10pm, and will probably or hopefully be out of there by 11pm after going through immigration, etc. I then intend to catch a Cebu Pacific flight at Terminal 3 at around 4am.

My question is at 11pm, will there still be a shuttle bus leaving T1 for T3?

If not, could you tell me what would be the next best thing for me to take? I suppose I could take a taxi, but sadly, I should probably expect to be overcharged. :-(

      ReplyDelete
    23. I had double checked with NAIA 1 authority. I am happy to tell you po that the shuttle from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 operates 24 hours daily. With that, I am sure you will arrive on time at NAIA 3 for your next flight via Cebu Pacific.

You're welcome po. It's my purpose to help our kababayans. You can, too. Can I ask you a favor of clicking the "Plus One" button at the top of this post? 25. this is a fantastic post, mr. lagalag. we travelers appreciate it very much. i have some questions, if you don't mind. approximately, how long is the travel time between naia 1 and 3? how long is the travel time between naia 3 and the mrt station? and how long is the total travel time between naia 1 and the mrt station? thank you very much!

      ReplyDelete
    26. Travel time varies depending on traffic situation and there's waiting time involved. Approximate time from NAIA 3 to MRT Station - 25 mins, from NAIA 1 to 3 via NAIA 2 - 35 mins. Approximate travel time from NAIA 1 to MRT Station - 60 mins. The bus waits for more arriving passengers in Terminal 3. But if there's queue when bus arrives, it leaves immediately.

      ReplyDelete

    36. thank you so much for all this info, mr Lagalag! We will be arriving at NAIA 2 @ around 6am and will have a layover of 6hrs before our connecting PAL flight to Iloilo @12pm. based on this, we can take the shuttle to take us to NAIA 3 with no problem. we are planning to eat at Resort World, if there's anything open, just to kill time. Is this the best way to get to RW?

Thanks so much for all your help and i will "plus 1" you, of course!

    37. Yes. And in that case, you can take the RW Shuttle Bus instead of the usual NAIA Shuttle Bus. That way, you alight right at RWM. Then you just walk across the road towards NAIA-3. Thanks for the 'Plus 1' :-)

    46. hi, mr. lagalag! i've been praying for this type of information as i'll be there tomorrow and no relative will be available to get me at the airport. i appreciate your effort to help commuters/passengers like me who find it not practical and too costly to get a taxi...i'd like to ask if i can also take the shuttle bus to MOA (mall of asia) from NAIA 3? and from MOA, how do i get to this destination: capitol homesite subd., tandang sora, quezon city? can i request you for an extended guide to and from my destination? i'd appreciate it much if i can get your reply by tonight so i can plan out my itinerary..thanks...

      ReplyDelete

    77. This is a great blogspot. I do have a question regarding routes in Manila since it's my first time to go there. I'll be staying in Malate and if it's okay with you, how can I get there from NAIA 3? I don't know anyone there and I've been searching for directions in the web until I found your blogspot. Please help me coz my flight will be this coming Friday. Thank you.

      ReplyDelete
    78. @ nAtrose. I wanna give you the most convenient and inexpensive way to get to Malate. First, you ride the shuttle bus to Pasay Rotunda terminal. But before I can give you the second direction, can you please tell me where exactly in Malate are you going?

      ReplyDelete
    79. Hello Lagalag, sorry for the late response. It's in M. Adriatico St., Malate, Manila. That is the place where I am going to. Thanks for the first direction.

      ReplyDelete
    80. @ nAtrose. I suggest that you alight from shuttle bus at Heritage Hotel where you can ride a taxi to M. Adriatico. Ask the driver to drop you off at Heritage Hotel. Don't go to Pasay Rotunda terminal. It's too crowded and there are some bad elements in that area such as pickpockets, snatchers, holdapers and the like. Flagdown rate of Metro Manila taxi is Php 40 and additional Php 3.50 for every 300 meters thereafter.

      ReplyDelete
    84. @ emjay.

Kung may pangaabuso po kyong maranasan sa pagsakay ninyo ng taxi, "report abusive taxi drivers to the LTFRB Hotline (0921) 448-7777 or the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Hotline 7890."

yung shuttle pa po ba from terminal 1 to terminal 3 restricted lang to arriving passengers? if yes, meron po bang shuttle bus na pwede sa general public?

      thanks!

      ReplyDelete
    92. @ shedisavip. :)

    93. Can I ask directions on how to get to a bus terminal bound for Laoag from NAIA Terminal 3? It will be my second time in Manila but first time to travel solo and will be my first in Ilocos, too. My ETA is 7:10 AM with AirPhil. Thanks a bunch. :-)

      ReplyDelete
    94. @ charesma. You can take Partas Bus with its terminal in Tramo aka Aurora Blvd Pasay. Ride the NAIA shuttle bus from NAIA-3 and alight at Pasay Rotunda Terminal. Then take a jeepney with "Nichols" sign. The jeep will turn right onto Tramo from EDSA and Partas Bus is located along Tramo near EDSA. Please ask the driver to drop you off at either Five Star Bus or Partas. They are located next to each other. Hope my reply helps you find your way. :)

    95. Hi po. This is my first time in Manila kaya kahit anong information binabasa ko. Ang ganda mo ng blog nyo! Tanong ko lang po kong ok lang ba mag stay sa T3 for couple of hours? Kasi 10:45pm po yong dating ko sa T1 then the earliest flight sa Cebu Pacific ay 4:10am. Ok lang ba mag stay don while waiting for my flight?

      Maraming Salamat po^____^

      ReplyDelete
    96. @ Unknown. :)

      ReplyDelete

    105. Hi sir! thanks for this blog, very informative one. Pano po commute from NAIA Terminal 3 to Victory Liner Pasay Terminal? Arrival ko po in Manila is 3am. Many thanks po.. +1 done..

      ReplyDelete
    106. @ jonz.

    108. Wow, I didn't know NAIA offers a shuttle service. I +1-ed and bookmarked you already.

I've some silly questions... Terminal 1 is the same as NAIA-1, right? And the NAIA Shuttle Bus is different from the NAIA Shuttle Van? Is the purple van in the photo, the NAIA Shuttle Van?

Also, is P20 a fixed rate even if you're just going from NAIA-1 to Baclaran, not all the way to MRT? Or from NAIA-1 to NAIA-3?

I read almost all the comments. You are very patient answering each and every question. Thank you so much. You don't know how much your article means to us permanent pedestrians. Super thank you!!!

      ReplyDelete
    109. @ MM Jo. You are welcome and thank you too for the plus and bookmark.

Yes Terminal 1 and NAIA-1 aka NAIA are the same. NAIA Shuttle has two fleets - shuttle buses and shuttle vans. From Pasay Rotunda Terminal, it's the shuttle bus that takes passengers to T3. From T3 to T1 mostly are vans, as well as from T1 to T2 and from T2 to T3. With regards to the purple van, it's belong to Resort World Manila. You can also ride that one.

Yes the fare is fixed regardless of where you're getting off the shuttle. You need to pay per ride, yes.

I am very happy to be of help. Thanks also for your appreciation. :)

this has been very very helpful,i am going to meet up with my cousin at T3 tomorrow who has a connecting flight to zambo. i thought of the fare im gona pay to ride a taxi vs 2jeepney rides to edsa then mrt and bus..id rather inhale the pollution than to pay 300 for a one way cab ride.

    112. Lagalag!

I have questions in mind. I am residing near Espana, Sampaloc Manila. Eventually would be working with resorts world if granted. What would be the best way to commute w/out riding the free shuttle van bec it is exempt for employees?

or can i also consider going to city hall post office and take taxi from there(for convenience's sake) Approx how much is the taxi fare and travel time if ever? :)

ilove this post. ur a blessing in disguise :)

      ReplyDelete
    113. @ Chazel Sze. Ok before I answer your question, I'd like you to know that I need to confirm what I've learned about NAIA Shuttle Bus serving some RWM employees too. I'll double check by going there and get the facts. Then I will make some updates.

Here's my answer. If exorbitant taxi fare is not an issue to you, then riding a cab is not bad idea. But I think Manila City Hall is way too far. You can take cab in Gil Puyat or Libertad. It's hard to take taxi in Pasay Rotunda.

For cheaper commuting, here's my suggestion: Take a jeep with "Pedro Gil PGH" sign, alight at UN Ave. Ride a LRT Train bound for Baclaran, alight at EDSA Station. Use the footbridges and go to EDSA side where Sogo Hotel is located. Then ride a jeep with "Nichols Terminal 3" sign. Get off the jeep at "Star Cruise Buiding", the reference point of drivers and passengers in going to Resort World Manila.

If you don't prefer the train, you can ride a jeep with "Baclaran" sign all the way to EDSA.

For complete guide on commuting to Resort World Manila, please go to How To Commute To Newport City & Resort World Manila

Hope my direction helps you. :)

      ReplyDelete
    117. @ rats arfaz.

    131. Hi Mr. Lag Alag,

Thanks for this very informative post!
I was trying to look for answers about my concern and hope you could help. It might go beyond the airport boundaries but still wishing you could help.

Actually, we're bound to TESDA, Taguig which is just a few kilometers away from NAIA-3 (per Google Map) but we booked a flight in PAL due to a cheaper deal compared to CebuPacific. In short, we'll be arriving at NAIA-2. Per Direction#5, we can transfer from NAIA-2 to NAIA-3 via NAIA Shuttle Bus and intend to take a taxi from there going to our destination.

With this route in mind, I'm thinking if this is the cheaper way since it only cost Php 20.00 (shuttle fare) + taxi fare (not sure if it would cost Php 100 or more since it's very near from there). But with baggage on hand, would it be better to take a taxi from NAIA-2 directly to TESDA in Taguig?

Hope you could lend me your perspective about this and could share to me some of your recommendations. By the way, we'll go there in group of six.

      Thanks!

      ReplyDelete
    132. @ bhon21. Hi! My pleasure to be of help. Definitely, it's NAIA-3 where you should take a taxi to TESDA. NAIA-2 is at the middle of T-1 and T-3 and if you take taxi from T-2, the cabbie will drive past T-3 on your way to TESDA and I'm sure it's not the way to go if you want to save some cash.

Now in NAIA-3, the best way to get a taxi that don't charge extra is to go up the frontage of Departure Area. You can use any stairways there. Wait for a taxi that drops flying passengers and get aboard that taxi.

Don't take any airport yellow taxi at the Arrival of NAIA-3 as those taxis not only charge high on flag down rate but their meters run fast too.

Also, avoid taxis by the roadside. Most of those drivers are crooks.

The ones that take flying passengers are regular taxis and drivers are happy that they don't leave the airport without any passengers so they don't cheat. Nevertheless, make sure that the driver uses the meter as soon as he speeds away.

I just have one thing to clarify though regarding shuttle loading station in Terminal 1, is it gonna be in the arrival area or in the departure area? I'll be heading to Terminal 3 for my next flight. 153. Sir. Kudos po sa post niyo, sobrang helpful. (:

May tanong po ako though, first time ko po kase mag commute papuntang airport. Lam ko na po yung instructions how to get there from Taft Station (thanks to you po).

If I remembered, nasa 20 to 30 minutes po ba yung travel time from Taft to NAIA?

Btw, my friend will be coming from Singapore so I assumed na sa T1 ang arrival nya. Tama po ba? Surprise po kase. (:

Sorry. Hindi rin kase ako familiar sa NAIA.
Thanks na po just in case masagot niyo inquiry ko. :D

Punta po kyo sa mga post na to: NAIA 1-2-3-4 Shuttle Bus Updates at NAIA Bus From MRT/LRT To T-3 & Vice Versa Still Operational.

      Marami pong salamat sir.

Your concept is fantastic the issue is anything that not ample men and women are speaking intelligently about. I am very joyful that I stumbled across this in my find for anything referring to this.

    163. @ Jun Fajardo.

      ReplyDelete
    164. Kaming apat po ay darating sa NAIA Terminal 3 from Zamboanga and going po sa Binan, Laguna. May kasama po kaming "elderly" and wanted to know sana kung may available bus sa labas ng terminal 3(para makatipid sa sobrang taas-singil ng mga taxi). May iba pa bang way aside from going Cubao na malayo na ata?

      ReplyDelete
    165. @ Nemesio Trinidad.

    172. @ Bori Biglangtangis. One bus ride lang po yan. Sakay bus to NAIA 1, baba T2. From T2, sakay po same bus with Fairview or Monumento sign at baba na po ng Roxas Blvd (South West Integrated.)

    174. from naia terminal 1 arrival to batangas bus station?

      ReplyDelete
    175. @ Khalid Al Sahoo. If you really need to take a cab, ride one outside departure which is upstairs. Those taxis that take flying passengers don't charge extra. I think you are not a backpacker on budget so you don't need to worry about the fare, it is affordable. But if you are travelling in budget, why don't you just ride a city bus bound for north of Metro Manila? They pass by South West Integrated Terminal.

    192. Hi Mr. Lag Alag

I have been reading your blog since yesterday and I find it very informative.

May concerns po ako and I hope you can help me figure out the answers to my queries.

I will be arriving in Manila with my two students via PAL at 8:25 am of FEB 22, so T2 ang arrival area ko.. They will arrive first, kasi arrival nila 7:30am of the same date. Which is better to ride on from T2 to T3? Shuttle Bus? Or Taxi?

After fetching them sa T3, we have to go to Richville Hotel in Mandaluyong at 10am sharp.. so I was thinking of riding a taxi again then bababa kami ng Taft station para sumakay nalang ng MRT to Shaw Blvd.. Tama ba itong idea ko?

I badly need your response about my concern kasi first time kaming naka.experience ng cross-over flights from different terminals. Tapos main concern talaga namin is to reach Mandaluyong the soonest time possible.

I am hoping for your quick response regarding my queries, sir. We are really having difficulty in setting our itinerary.. We will be leaving this coming Saturday already.. God Bless.

      ReplyDelete
    193. @ Christine Joy Cabahug. Since time is of the essence, taking taxi from T3 would be the best option. My suggestion are: First, take a cab outside the departure lobby which is located upstairs. As a friendly reminder, drivers of taxis that park ouside T3 complex, specifically along Andrews Ave, are not trustworthy. Most of them are crooks. So to be safe, get on board a taxi that just dropped off a passenger in front of departure entrances.

Second, use the second station of MRT which is Magallanes Station. The difference of distance is very minimal. Just ask the driver to take you to MRT Magallanes Station. The taxi should just take Sales Road and turn left onto SLEX, then turn right onto Magallanes Station. I think it will be faster than if you use MRT Taft. Two travel distances are eliminated - the distance of taxi to Taft, and the distance of the train from Taft to Magallanes.

Before I continue, I would like to take this opportunity to remind all readers that Pasay Taft Rotunda in which the terminal of NAIA Shuttles, the MRT Taft Station and the LRT EDSA Station are located, is notorious for bad elements. So, please be careful in that area.

Shuttle from T2 to T3 would be better. Simply because the roads it takes to T3 would be the same roads taxi take. No difference, except of course, if there is no available shuttle. But I think, NAIA shuttles fetch passenger in regular intervals of 20 to 30 minutes. You just need to wait a little bit. Chances are a shuttle bound for T3 will be there once you got out of T2.

      Hope this direction helps you.

      ReplyDelete
    194. Wow, that was a great idea. So pagbaba ng shuttle bus, we can climb up the stairs sa taas na departure lobby ng T3? Saan banda?

Are we going to take the same route when we go back to these terminals at 1pm of Feb 23? Will there be a possibility of traffic congestion in the same area during that time? Thank you.

      ReplyDelete
    195. @ Christine Joy Cabahug. This is how I go about it. Since my bad experience in a taxi along Andrews Ave, my second and third flight arrivals at T3, I didn't get outside the arrival area. Instead I went straight to departure, exited there and boarded cab that dropped departing passengers.

You can ask airport officers re stairs or lift to the departure area since you are from T2, and your companions will have no problem on that. The yellow taxis at arrival area are expensive.

In going back? My advice is to travel early to avoid traffic. Use MRT Taft Station and take the NAIA Shuttle to T3. It's more convenient and very economical.
