How To Commute To Aliw Theater

  • Aliw Theater is a concert venue located at MBC Building, CCP Complex, Pasay City, Metro Manila. On April 16, 2011, the grand celebration of Aliwan Fiesta culminates here as the Grand Parade and Awarding Ceremony takes place.

    Here's how to get to Aliw Theater from different locations by jeepney, bus and LRT/MRT train:


    Route #1

    From Caloocan, Navotas, Malabon, Valenzuela, Tondo, Quiapo, SM San Lazaro, SM City Manila, Carriedo, Blumentritt and other areas near to these locations.

    First ride. Take a jeep, FX or taxi and go to a LRT-1 Station nearest to you, e.g. Monumento Station, 5th Avenue Station, R. Papa Station, Jose Abad Santos Station, Tayuman Station, Blumentritt Station, Doroteo Jose Station, Carriedo Station and Central Terminal Station Arroceros.

    Second ride. Ride a train bound for Baclaran and alight at Vito Cruz Station.

    Third ride. Walk along Taft Avenue southward until you get to the corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz. Walk along Pablo Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. The terminal is located along P. Ocampo Sr near gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these jeepney-shuttles. Pay minimum fare.





    Where to alight? From its terminal, the shuttle will traverse Pablo Ocampo Sr, westward or towards Manila Bay. It will cross intersections (with traffic lights) of Adriatico Street, Harrison Street and Roxas Boulevard. After the shuttle cross Roxas Boulevard, alight approximately 10 meters from the corner of Roxas Boulevard, opposite the frontage of CCP building. Road name changes to Pedro Bukaneg. Pablo Ocampo Sr ends up in Roxas Boulevard.

    Walking direction. Walk across Pedro Bukaneg towards the access road to the ramp of CCP. Walk further towards the other side of CCP building where another wide road called Vicente Sotto runs through. Aliw Theater is already visible from the corner of Vicente Sotto and the access road of CCP building. See map below. Walk across Vicente Sotto and head towards Aliw Theater.



    Route #2

    From Alabang, Muntinlupa, Sucat, Bicutan, Metropolis Starmall, and other nearby areas.

    First ride. Along service road of Osmena Highway aka SLEX, ride a jeepney with "Pasay Rotonda" sign and alight at Pasay Rotunda Taft.





    Second ride. Ride either a jeepney with any of these signs: "Monumento", "Quiapo", "Divisoria", "Cubao" or a LRT-1 train bound for Monumento/Roosevelt. Riding a jeep, alight at Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz. Riding a train, alight at Vito Cruz Station.

    Third Ride. Walk across Taft Avenue towards the opposite corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo where a Starbucks Coffee is situated. Walk further along P. Ocammpo aka Vito Cruz until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. Ride one of these shuttles and follow direction given in route #1.

    Route #3

    Festival Mall, Filinvest City, Madrigal Business Park, Pacific Village, Alabang Town Center and other areas nearby.

    First ride. Along Alabang-Zapote Road, ride a jeepney with "Balcaran" sign. Alight at Baclaran.

    Second ride. In Baclaran ride a jeepney with any of these signs: "Divisoria Mabini", "Cubao Quiapo", "Quiapo Mabini", "Monumento Mabini". Alight at P. Ocampo Sr. Street formerly Vito Cruz.

    Third ride. Along P. Ocampo aka Vito Cruz, west lane, the lane going to Manila Bay and near to the concrete iron fence of Central Bank of the Philippines, wait for a orange colored jeepney-shuttle going to CCP Complex. Ride one of these shuttles and alight after it cross Roxas Boulevard. Follow walking direction given in Route #1.

    Alternatively, you can walk your way to the Aliw Theater. Just croos Roxas Boulevard, walk towards the frontage of CCP building and go to the other side of the building where a wide road called Vicente Sotto runs through. From the corner of Vicento Sotto and the access road of CCP ramp, Aliw Theater is already visible.

    Route #4

    From Southern Tagalog provinces of Laguna, Tayabas, Quezon and other nearby areas.

    First ride. Ride a bus bound for Manila with its terminal located near corner of Taft and Gil Puyat formerly Buendia Avenue, e.g. BBL, JAC Transit, JAM, etc. Alight at Taft Gil Puyat.

    Second ride. Go to the north bound lane of Taft and ride any jeepney with signs like "Quiapo", "Monumento", "Divisoria", "Blumentritt", etc. Get off the jeepney at the next main intersection with traffic lights which is P. Ocampo Sr. Street formerly Vito Cruz.

    Third ride. Walk across Taft towards opposite corner where Starbucks Coffee is located at the ground floor of Torre Lorenzo building. Walk along P. Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. Ride one of these shuttles, pay minimum and follow direction in Route #1.

    Route #5

    From Casimiro, SM South Mall, BF Almanza, Las Pinas, BF Resort Drive and other areas near to these locations.

    First ride. Take a bus bound for Lawton, e.g. Tas Trans, Bensan and Saint Anthony. Alight at Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz.

    Second ride. Walk across Taft towards opposite corner where Starbucks Coffee is located at the ground floor of Torre Lorenzo building. Walk along P. Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. Ride one of these shuttles, pay minimum and follow direction in Route #1.

    Route #6

    From Novaliches, Quirino Highway, A. Bonifacio Avenue and other nearby areas.

    First ride. Take a jeepney with "Blumentritt" sign. Alight at Blumentritt.

    Second ride. Go to LRT-1 Blumentritt Station. Ride a train bound for Balcaran. Alight at Vito Cruz Station.

    Third ride. Walk along Taft Avenue southward until you get to the corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz. Walk along Pablo Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. The terminal is located along P. Ocampo Sr near gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these jeepney-shuttles. Pay minimum fare.

    Follow direction in Route #1. Read 'Where to alight?' and 'Walking direction to Aliw Theater'.

    Route #7

    From Balintawak, Roosevelt, Congressional, Munoz, Project 6, Project 7&8, SM City North EDSA and other areas near to these locations.

    First ride. If your from Project 6, ride a jeepney bound for Quiapo or Pier. Get off the jeep after it made a U-Turn in EDSA. Walk to Roosevelt Station of LRT-1. If you're from Congressional Avenue, ride any jeep or bus going to EDSA-Roosevelt. If you're from Roosevelt, ride a jeep going to EDSA and Munoz Market.

    Second ride. This will serves as first ride if you're location is near to Balintawak and Roosevelt Station of LRT-1. Go to any of these stations and ride a train bound for Baclaran. Alight at Vito Cruz Station.

    Third ride. Walk along Taft Avenue southward until you get to the corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz. Walk along Pablo Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. The terminal is located along P. Ocampo Sr near gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these jeepney-shuttles. Pay minimum fare.

    Follow direction given in Route #1 as to where to alight and read walking direction to Aliw Theater.

    Route #8

    From Marikina, SSS Village, Antipolo, Cainta, Santolan Pasig and other areas nearby.

    First ride. Take a jeepney bound for Cubao and alight either in LRT-2 Santolan Station or LRT-2 Araneta Center Cubao Station.

    Second ride. Ride a train bound for Recto. Alight at Recto Station.

    Third ride. Walk from Recto Station to LRT-1 Doroteo Jose Station via footbridge that connects the two stations. Go to the southbound lane of LRT-1 and ride a train bound for Baclaran. Alight at Vito Cruz Station.

    Fourth ride. Walk along Taft Avenue southward until you get to the corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz. Walk along Pablo Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. The terminal is located along P. Ocampo Sr near gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these jeepney-shuttles. Pay minimum fare.

    Follow direction given in Route #1 as to where to alight and read walking direction to Aliw Theater.

    Route #9

    From areas near to LRT-2 stations. These areas are: Katipunan, Anonas, Araneta Center Cubao, Betty Go Belmonte, Gilmore, J. Ruiz, V. Mapa, SM Centerpoint, UERM, Central University, Pureza, Stop&Shop and Legarda.

    First ride. Take a train at any station of LRT-2 bound for Recto Station. Alight at Recto Station.

    Second ride. Walk from Recto Station to LRT-1 Doroteo Jose Station via footbridge that connects the two stations. Go to the southbound lane of LRT-1 and ride a train bound for Baclaran. Alight at Vito Cruz Station.

    Third ride. Walk along Taft Avenue southward until you get to the corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz. Walk along Pablo Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. The terminal is located along P. Ocampo Sr near gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these jeepney-shuttles. Pay minimum fare.

    Follow direction given in Route #1 as to where to alight and read walking direction to Aliw Theater.

    Route #10

    From Fairview, UP Diliman, UP Ayala Technohub, Philcoa

    First ride. Take a jeepney or bus bound for Quiapo. Get off at Quiapo.

    Second ride. Walk to the other side of Quiapo Church from where LRT-1 Carriedo Station is already visible from the distance. Walk to Carriedo Station, ride a train bound for Baclaran and alight at Vito Cruz Station.

    Third ride. Walk along Taft Avenue southward until you get to the corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz. Walk along Pablo Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. The terminal is located along P. Ocampo Sr near gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these jeepney-shuttles. Pay minimum fare.

    Follow direction given in Route #1 as to where to alight and read walking direction to Aliw Theater.

    Route #11

    From any MRT-3 Station. These stations are: North Station (connected to Trinoma), Quezon Avenue Station (connected to Centris), GMA Kamuning (Timog Avenue), Araneta Center Cubao Station (connected to Farmers Plaza and Araneta Coliseum), Santolan-Anapolis Station (Boni Serano Avenue and Camp Aguinaldo), Ortigas Station (Greenhills, Robinson's Galleria, Ortigas Center, POEA, The Podium, SM Mega Mall), Shaw Station (EDSA Crossing, Pasig, Shangri-La Plaza, EDSA Central, Greenfield District, Mandaluyong), Boni Station (Boni Pioneer, Robinson's Place Pioneer, GA Sky Suites, Pinatubo, New Horizon), Guadalupe Station (Fort Bonifacio, Market Market, Taguig, J.P. Rizal, Rockwell), Buendia Station and Ayala Station.

    First ride. Take a train bound for Taft and alight at Taft Station.

    Second ride. From Taft Station, go to LRT-1 EDSA Station via footbridge that connects the two stations. Ride a train bound for Monumneto/Roosevelt stations. Alight at Vito Cruz Station.

    Third ride. Walk along Taft Avenue southward until you get to the corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo Sr Street formerly Vito Cruz where a Jolibee is situated. Walk across Taft Avenue towards the opposite corner where a Starbucks Coffee is located at the ground floor of Torre Lorenzo Condominium. Walk further along Pablo Ocampo until you get to the terminal of colored orange jeepney-shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft and vice versa. The terminal is located along P. Ocampo Sr near gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these jeepney-shuttles. Pay minimum fare.

    Follow direction given in Route #1 as to where to alight and read 'Walking Direction' to Aliw Theater.

    Route #12

    From MOA or Mall of Asia.

    Go to jeepney terminal located in front of North Parking Building. This is the building where the Hypermart is located at the ground floor.

    Look for jeepney-shuttles with "Buendia Gil Puyat LRT" sign located near toilet. There are barkers shouting "Buendia LRT". If you're in doubt, ask the barker if they are heading to Gil Puyat and check if they will pass by World Trade Center.

    Ride one of these shuttles. Pay minimum and alight at World Trade Center, exactly located at the corner of President Macapagal Boulevard and Gil Puyat Avenue.

    Walk across Gil Puyat towards the open space of CCP Complex where you will see Wensha among others from the distance. Walk along the road that runs from Gil Puyat towards north where Star City is situated at the back of Wensha. This road is Magdalena Jalandoni and the next intersection is Vicente Sotto. Walk up to Vicente Sotto and turn right at that corner. You're now at Star City. Aliw Theater is situated along Vicente Sotto next to Star City.

    2. From the University of Santo Tomas, can you recommend a route to, and back from, Aliw Theater that doesn't use the LRT?

    3. @ Heidrek. Along Espana, wait for and ride a jeep with "Baclaran" sign. Alight at Pablo Ocampo aka Vito Cruz. Ride CCP Shuttle along Pablo Ocampo and ask the driver to drop you off near Aliw Theater. They don't stop exactly there so you need to walk a little bit.

    4. @ Heidrek. To get back to UST, ride the same shuttle and alight at Taft Ave. Ride a jeepney with "Espana Cubao" sign and alight at UST. Hope my direction helps you.
