How To Get To Rizal Memorial Sports Complex & Ninoy Aquino Stadium

  • Rizal Memorial Sports Complex is the Philippines' national sports complex. It was built in 1934 and was the venue of the second Asian Games in 1954. The sports facilities here are Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Rizal Memorial Swimming Center, Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium, Rizal Memorial Track and Football Stadium, Rizal Memorial Tennis Center, PSC Badminton Hall, PSC Bowling Hall, Gymnastics Hall, Philippine Center for Sports Medicine, Philippine Taekwondo Association Dojang and Main Office, Boxing Gym and Pencak Silat Gym. It is bordered to the east (northeast) by Taft Avenue and De La Salle University, to the south (southeast) by Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz, and to the west (southwest) by M. Adriatico Street and Harrison Plaza Shopping Mall. Here are directions to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex from different parts of Metro Manila.

    How to get to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and Ninoy Aquino Stadium by bus and jeepney?

    Route #1

    From north of Metro Manila
    Ride
    Caloocan City - Ride a jeepney with "Baclaran Pasay Taft" sign.
    Novalichez - Ride a jeepney going to Blumentrit, Carriedo and Santa Cruz. Ride another jeep with "Baclaran Pasay Taft" sign.
    Fairview - Ride a jeepney to Quiapo. Ride another jeepney with "Baclaran Pasay Taft" sign.
    Project 2&3, 6, 7, 8 SM City North Edsa and Trinoma - Ride jeepney to Quiapo. Ride another jeepney with "Baclaran Pasay Taft" sign.
    Munoz and Retiro - Ride jeepney to Blumentritt or Santa Cruz. Ride another jeepeny with "Baclaran Pasay Taft" sign.
    Alight
    at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. It would be better if you ask the driver to drop you off at Pablo Ocampo and to remind you when the jeep gets to Pablo Ocampo or simply P. Ocampo. Landmark here is De La Salle University Taft. Next to De La Salle University is McDonald's, then University Mall, and at the corner of Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street and Taft Avenue is Torre Lorenzo Condominium where Starbucks Coffee is also located, occupying the ground floor of the condominium.
    Walk
    Walk from the corner of Pablo Ocampo Street and Taft Avenue towards west (Manila Bay). When you see the terminal of colored orange shuttles that ply "Taft Ave - CCP Complex" route, next to it is the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
    Alternative Routes
    From Quiapo, you can ride a jeepney with "Vito Cruz Dakota Harrison" sign and then get off the jeep at Harrison Plaza Shopping Mall along M. Adriatico Street. This is the route you must take if you're going to Ninoy Aquino Stadium because Ninoy Aquino Stadium is nearer to the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex that is located along M. Adriatico Street, and that gate is opposite of a new SM Hypermart. It is important to remind the driver to drop you off the area of M. Adriatico Street opposite Ninoy Aquino Stadium because both Harrison Plaza and Rizal Memorial Sports Complex are so massive. To make sure you don't get out of the way, just get off at SM Hypermart and cross M. Adriatico Street to get to Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

    Route #2

    From Cubao
    Ride a jeepney with "PGH Pedro Gil" sign or "Quiapo" sign. After getting off at PGH, Pedro Gil or Quiapo, ride another jeepney with "Baclaran Pasay Taft" or "Vito Cruz Dakota Harrison" sign depending on what part of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex you're going to. If you're going to Ninoy Aquino Stadium, then ride jeepney going to Harrison via Dakota. Follow direction given above. If you're going to Philippine Taekwondo Association or the main gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex which are located along Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street, then ride the jeepney with "Baclaran Taft" sign. Then follow walking direction given in Route #1.

    Route #3

    From Pasig, San juan, Shaw Boulevard, Legarda, SM City Sta Mesa and V. Mapa Street - Ride jeepney going to Quiapo. In Quiapo ride a jeepney with "Baclaran Pasay Taft" or "Vito Cruz Dakota Harrison" sign depending on what part of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex you're going. If you're going to Ninoy Aquino Stadium, then ride jeepney going to Harrison via Dakota. Follow direction given above. If you're going to Philippine Taekwondo Association or the main gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex which are located along Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street, then ride the jeepney with "Baclaran Taft" sign. Then follow walking direction given in Route #1.

    Route #4

    From Makati
    Guadalupe, Rockwell or Power Plant Mall, Makati City Hall and PRC - Ride jeepney with "Pedro Gil Herran Taft" sign. Walk to Pedro Gil corner Taft Avenue from drop off, then ride a jeepney with "Baclaran Pasay Taft" or "Vito Cruz Dakota Harrison" sign depending on what part of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex you're going. If you're going to Ninoy Aquino Stadium, then ride jeepney going to "Horrison via Dakota". Follow tips given on Route #1 to make sure you get off exactly opposite Ninoy Aquino Stadium. If you're going to Philippine Taekwondo Association which is located along Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street then ride the jeepney with "Baclaran Taft" sign. Then follow walking direction given on Route #1.

    From Buendia or Gil Puyat and Ayala Avenue - Ride jeepney or bus to "Taft". At the corner of Taft Avenue and Gil Puyat Avenue below LRT Station ride jeepney south bound e.g. Monumento, Quiapo, Santa Cruz and Divisoria. Get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street. Follow walking direction given in Route #1.

    Route #5

    From Baclaran and Pasay City
    Ride jeepney south bound via Taft Avenue e.g. Monumento, Quiapo, Santa Cruz and Divisoria. Get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street. Follow walking direction given in Route #1.

    Route #6

    From South of Metro Manila
    Alabang
    There are terminals of jeepneys going to Pasay Rotonda located in Alabang near Metropolis Star Mall. Some of them just pick up passengers along East Service Road near corner Montillano Street. Ride jeepney with Pasay Rotonda sign. Get off at Pasay Rotonda. Ride jeepney south bound via Taft Avenue e.g. Monumento, Quiapo, Santa Cruz and Divisoria. Get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street. Follow walking direction given in Route #1.

    From Bacoor, Zapote, Las Pinas, SM South Mall, Cavite and other areas near Alabang-Zapote Road and Emilio Aguinaldo Highway Junction
    Ride a bus going to Lawton, Sta. Cruz, or Buendia. These buses take the route of Coastal Road also known as Manila-Cavite Expressway or Aguinaldo Blvd. These buses take two routes going to Manila. One is via Quirino Avenue in Malate. From Roxas Boulevard, they turn right onto Quirino Avenue and left on Taft. The other one is via Gil Puyat Avenue formerly Buendia Avenue. From Roxas Boulevard, they turn right onto Gil Puyat Avenue formerly Buendia Avenue and left on Taft. If the bus you ride turns right onto Gil Puyat then turn left on Taft, just get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street. Follow walking direction to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex given in Route #1. If the bus you ride turn right onto Quirino Avenue from Roxas Boulevard then turn left on Taft Avenue, then get off at the corner of Taft Avenue and Quirino Avenue. There are two routes you can take from this location to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. One is via Taft and the other is via Dakota. If you're going to Ninoy Aquino Stadium, then take the Dakota route. Cross Taft Avenue and at the corner of Taft and San Andres Street, where Marc 2000 Tower building is located, ride jeepney with "Vito Cruz Dakota Harrizon Plaza" sign and get off at M. Adriatico Street opposite the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex nearer to Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Follow the tips given in Route #1 to avoid missing the right unloading area near the venue. If you're going to the main entrance of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex along Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz, then ride jeepney along Taft going to Baclaran, then get off at the corner of Taft Avenue and Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. Follow walking direction to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex given in Route #1.



    How to get to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and Ninoy Aquino Stadium by MRT and LRT?


    From any station of MRT-3, get off at Taft Avenue Station, then walk to Edsa Station of LRT-1 and ride another train north bound or Monumento bound train. Get off at Vito Cruz Station.
    From any station of LRT-1 get off at Vito Cruz Station.
    From any station of LRT-2 get off at Recto Station then walk to Doroteo Jose Station of LRT-1 and ride a south bound or Baclaran bound train. LRT-1 and LRT-2 are linked together by a crossway so no need to get on the ground. Get off at Vito Cruz Station.

    From Vito Cruz Station of LRT-1 walk your way to the main entrance of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex along Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street. Walk toward the corner of Taft and Pablo Ocampo then turn right onto Pablo Ocampo Street. You'll see Starbucks Coffee at the corner of Taft Avenue and Pablo Ocampo formerly Vito Cruz Street, located in the ground floor of Torre Lorenzo Condominium. Walk on until you see the terminal of the orange passenger shuttles that ply the route of CCP Complex-Taft Avenue. Next to it you'll see the main gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

    Alternatively, all train commuters of LRT-1, LRT-2 and MRT-3 going to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex can get off at Quirino Avenue Station of LRT-1 and take a jeepney ride via Harrison Dakota. Follow train direction from your location given above. But you must first know where in Rizal Memorial Sports Complex you're going to. Rizal Memorial Sports Complex is so big. If you're going to Ninoy Aquino Stadium, definitely, this route is the best. From Quirino Avenue Station of LRT-1 walk to Taft Avenue corner San Andres Street, where Marc 2000 Tower building is located, ride jeepney with "Vito Cruz Dakota Harrizon Plaza" sign and get off at M. Adriatico Street opposite the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex nearer to Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Tip: Just get off at SM Hypermart adjacent to Harrison Plaza. Exact opposite across M. Adriatico is the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and Ninoy Aquino Stadium.



    How to get to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and Ninoy Aquino Stadium by car?


    Route #1

    Monumento, Navotas and Malabon - Take Rizal Avenue and drive all the way under the elevated track of LRT-1 up to Santa Cruz, Manila. Cross Recto Avenue. Follow the route of passenger jeepneys and turn right onto Ronquillo Street and cross Pasig River via MacArthur Highway. Stay to the middle of the road which at this point is now Padre Burgos Street. Get onto the Lagusnilad underpass going to Taft Avenue after the stop light on the next intersection after Lawton. Stay to the middle of the road which is by now becomes Taft Avenue and you're back again under the elevated tracks of LRT-1. You will cross intersections of T.M. Kalaw, U.N. Avenue, Padre Faura, Pedro Gil, Malvar, Nakpil and Remedios before you get to the intersection of Taft Avenue and Quirino Avenue where San Andres Street also share the junction. Now, if your going to Ninoy Aquino Stadium turn right onto San Andres Street. You must staying to the right of Taft Avenue long before you reach the junction of Taft, Quirino and San Andres if you're taking San Andres Street. You see, San Andres Street is just kind of a slip lane, a small road that appears right at the corner of Taft Avenue and Quirino Avenue. You must be very careful in getting to the right road way. After you turn right, stay to the middle of San Andres and cross the streets of Pilar Hidalgo Lim, Luis Maria Guerero, Maria Orosa and George Bacobo before you turn left on M. Adriatico Street. M. Adriatico Street is the only street from Taft with stop light. Before you get to the intersection of San Andres and M. Adriatico Street, you'll pass by San Andres Market, located to the left of San Andres right before George Bacobo Street. After you turn left on M. Adriatico Street, stay to the middle and cross Quirino Avenue. Right after crossing Quirino Avenue at the corner is the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden most popularly known as Manila Zoo. Now stay to the middle of M. Adriatico and continue your drive until Rizal Memorial Sports Complex comes into view to your left. Ninoy Aquino Stadium is located right at the first corner of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Opposite the gate nearer to Ninoy Aquino Stadium is SM Hypermart. That would be your reference point. There are enough parking spaces along M.Adriatico Street. Restaurants and fast food chains are located inside Harrison Plaza which is just across Rizal Memorial Sports Complex with few dine-in restaurants just outside Rizal Memorial Sports Colisium along M. Adriatico Street.

    If you're going to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex via the main entrance along Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street, then cross Quirino Avenue and stay on Taft Avenue up to Pablo Ocampo Street and turn right onto Pablo Ocampo Street. Before you get to the corner of Pablo Ocampo, you will pass by De La Salle University. Next to De La Salle University is McDonald and then Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street. At the corner of Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz and Taft Avenue is the Torre Lorenzo Condominium where Starbucks Coffee is located at the ground floor. Continue driving until the last gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex is visible. Opposite the gate is SM Hypermart. There are enough parking spaces along M.Adriatico Street. Restaurants and fast food chains are located inside Harrison Plaza which is just across Rizal Memorial Sports Complex with few dine-in restaurants just outside Rizal Memorial Sports Colisium along M. Adriatico Street.

    Route #2

    From Bulacan, Pampanga, Novaliches and North Luzon, take A. Bonifacio Avenue and Dimasalang Street up to Quezon Boulevard. From Quezon Boulevard continue driving up to Lawton, crossing Pasig River via Quezon Bridge. Follow the road which is by now becomes Padre Burgos Street, staying to the middle.     From Quezon City take Quezon Avenue up to Quiapo via Espana Boulevard. Cross Pasig River via Quezon Bridge. Follow the road which is by now becomes Padre Burgos Street, staying to the middle. Get onto the Lagusnilad underpass going to Taft Avenue after the stop light on the next intersection after Lawton. Stay to the middle of the road which is by now becomes Taft Avenue and you're driving under the elevated tracks of LRT-1. You will cross intersections of T.M. Kalaw, U.N. Avenue, Padre Faura, Pedro Gil, Malvar, Nakpil and Remedios before you get to the corner of San Andres and Taft. Right after San Andress is the main intersection of Taft and Quirino Avenue. You must stay to the right of of Taft Avenue long before you reach the junction of San Andres Street, Taft Avenue and Quirino Avenue if you're taking San Andres Street. You see, San Andres Street is just kind of a slip lane, a small road that appears right at the corner of Taft Avenue and Quirino Avenue. You must be very careful in getting to the right road way.

    From Alabang - Take the Skyway or SLEX, then take President Osmena Highway and turn left on Quirino Highway. Turn left on Taft Avenue, the road under the elevated track of LRT-1 and turn right onto Pablo Ocampo Street. Before you get to the corner of Pablo Ocampo, you will pass by De La Salle University. Next to De La Salle University is McDonald and then Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz Street. At the corner of Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz and Taft Avenue is the Torre Lorenzo Condominium where Starbucks Coffee is located at the ground floor. Stay to the right of Pablo Ocampo Street. Next to the terminal of orange passenger shuttles of CCP Complex is the main entrance of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. If you took this route on your way to Ninoy Aquino Stadium, then drive straight ahead and turn right onto M. Adriatico Street. Continue driving up to the last gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex where Ninoy Aquino Stadium is accessible. Opposite the gate nearer to Ninoy Aquino Stadium is SM Hypermart. That would be your reference point. There are enough parking spaces along M.Adriatico Street. Restaurants and fast food chains are located inside Harrison Plaza which is just across Rizal Memorial Sports Complex with few dine-in restaurants just outside Rizal Memorial Sports Colisium along M. Adriatico Street.

    If you're going directly to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, then while in Quirino Avenue stay to the middle and cross the intersection of Taft Avenue and Quirino Avenue. After crossing Leveriza Street, stay to the left of Quirino Avenue in preparatio for left turn on M. Adriatico Street. Turn left on Adriatico Street. After the left turn to Adriatico from Quirino Avenue, Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden most popularly known as Manila Zoo will be visible at the corner of Adriatico and Quirino Avenue to your right. Now stay to the middle of M. Adriatico and continue your drive until Rizal Memorial Sports Complex comes into view to your left. Ninoy Aquino Stadium is located right at the first corner of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Opposite the gate nearer to Ninoy Aquino Stadium is SM Hypermart. That would be your reference point. There are enough parking spaces along M.Adriatico Street. Restaurants and fast food chains are located inside Harrison Plaza which is just across Rizal Memorial Sports Complex with few dine-in restaurants just outside Rizal Memorial Sports Colisium along M. Adriatico Street.

    Route #5

    From Cavite, Tagaytay, Imus, Bacoor, Las Pinas, SM South Mall, Alabang-Zapote Road and other areas in these vicinities - Take Manila-Cavite Coastal Road or simply known as Coastal Road. This route is the simplest route to both Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and Ninoy Aquino Stadium. It's just an L-shape route. Stay to the middle of Coastal road all the way until the road becomes Roxas Boulevard after crossing NAIA Road. Still stay to the middle of Roxas Boulevard and drive all the way straight, crossing the intersection of Airport Road, and pass through two flyovers - EDSA and Gil Puyat Avenue. After Gil Puyat flyover, slowly change lane to the right in preparation for right turn. Next main intersection with traffic lights is Pablo Ocampo Street formerly known as Vito Cruz. Turn right onto Pablo Ocampo Street, completing the L-shape route to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Along Pablo Ocampo Street, after you turn right from Roxas Boulevard, to your left is the Central Bank of the Philippines and to your right is Legaspi Towers Condominium. Cross Harrison Street. After crossing Harrison Street, to your left is HP Village Square followed by a driveway to the parking area of Harrison Plaza, and then there's Century Seafood Restaurant and finally before the next main street of Adriatico is the Century Hotel. Before you reach Adriatico Street to your right almost opposite Century Hotel is the Orchid Garden and Orchid Garden Suites followed by Vietnam Embassy. At this point, Rizal Memorial Sport Complex is in full view, bordering by Pablo Ocampo Street and Adriatico. Now it's for you to decide which way to go. Turn left on Adriatico if you're coming to Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Go straight on Pablo Ocampo Street if you're going to the main entrance of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex or the sports facilities located there. Tip: There's a lot of available free parking along Adriatico but you need to walk far to the main gate. Parking along Pablo Ocampo, always full but it's a few meters walk to the main gate of Rizal Memorial Sport Complex. You can take your chance. Restaurants and fast food chains are located inside Harrison Plaza which is just across Rizal Memorial Sports Complex with few dine-in restaurants just outside Rizal Memorial Sports Colisium along M. Adriatico Street. Parkinng inside the Harrison Plaza Complex is also free, you just give those "back up boys" a few bucks for humanitarian reason.
